…says I’ve declared constitutionally
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, yesterday, said he will consider the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari as regards the public deceleration of his asset.
The governor also added that he had already complied with the requirement of the constitution by declaring his asset to the Code of Conduct Bureau.

Ahmed, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Media and Publicity, Alhaji Muyideen Akorede was reacting to the directive of President Buhari to state governors and permanent secretaries to fulfill the constitutional requirement by declaring their asset.
Since the public declaration of their assets by Buhari and his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo last week, state governors, members of the National Assembly among other government functionaries have come under intense pressure to publicly declare their asset.
The public asset decoration issue has reportedly generated diverse comments from state governors and senators some of whom maintained they are not under any obligation to follow their code of conduct declaration with a public pronouncement.
“He (Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed) has already complied with the constitutional requirement of declaration of his asset with the Code of Conduct Bureau.
“That is what the constitution has said and that is what he has done”, Akorede added.
On the directive of the president that other public officers should also publicly declare their asset, Akorede said “as regards that we would take his advice on advisement. But he (the governor) has already complied with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with his Code of Conduct declaration”
It would be recalled that Buhari publicly declared cash sum of less than N30m among other assets that include farms, cows and mud houses while Vice President Osinbajo made a public declaration of N94m and $900,000.
Also, Senator Ahmed Sani representing Kaduna Central publicly declared a cash sum of N22m including two wives.
