Road side traders at Obbo market, Unity in Ilorin have appealed to Kwara State Government to give them more time to be able to relocate to a more suitable environment.

It would be recalled that the state government recently directed traders selling along the roadside in Obbo market to vacate their present location latest by 28th August in order to give room for free movement and vehicular movement.
Some of the traders who spoke with Pilot Business at the weekend expressed their apprehension over the government directive, saying that relocating them to another would make them lose several customers.
They claimed some of their customers are accustomed to the location; therefore it might be difficult for them.
A cat fish seller simply identified as Akeem, said that is where he got his means of livelihood, feed his family and further his education.
He said the allegation that they (traders) caused hold up and accidents along the road is nothing to write home about.
Another trader who spoke under anonymity appealed to the state government to reconsider them as they have nowhere to go.
A pepper seller, Mrs Aminat Isiaka noted that they would be delighted if government could rescind its decision on the issue, saying that it is from the place they get their means of livelihood.
