...says they remain best of friends
Kwara State Government last night denied reported frosty relationships between First Lady, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed and her predecessor, Barrister Toyin Saraki, saying the duo remained best of friends.
Speaking to National Pilot on Sunday, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Communication, Dr Muideen Akorede, described the report as “untrue, baseless and figment of imagination the story’s sponsor.

One of the national dailies on Sunday reported on its gossip page a story headlined “Omolewa Ahmed, Toyin Saraki flex muscles’’, wherein it was alleged that the duo’s relationship has gone sour.
“There is no basis for it,” Akorede said, while dismissing the report.
The governor’s aide noted that Toyin, who is the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki’s wife and Omolewa are best of friends, focused and committed to the development of the state and rendering assistance to the widows and less-privileged in the society through their respective foundations.
Omolewa is the founder of LEAH Foundation, while Toyin is the President-Founder, Wellbeing Foundation Africa- the foundations prioritise widows and less-privileged welfares.
Akorede said: “We want to dismiss the report. The First lady, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed and Barrister Toyin Saraki remain very close. There is no basis for it because they have sheer commitment to the interest of the widows and less-privileged through their foundations. They are also committed to the development of the state and as well assist their husbands in the achieving best in governance.
‘’They are meeting at several occasions the latest being the recent reception held in honour of Dr Bukola Saraki when he was elected as the President of the Senate. The report is untrue. It is baseless and the story is figment of imagination of the sponsor. We know their targets. They have failed in the past and they will fail again.”
