*Passes Vote of Confidence on Gov Ahmed
The Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as unfounded and baseless, the rumour that the absence of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki was responsible for the delay in setting up the State Executive Council.
The State Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani stated this during a press briefing at the Party Secretariat, Ilorin on Monday.
According to him, never since the inception of the administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed had Dr Bukola Saraki being involved in the governing process, hence the claim was unjustifiable.

He explained that the Senate President usually concerns himself with only party affairs and his philanthropic activities anytime he comes to the state and had never interfered in any affair of the state.
The Party Chairman added that the seeming delay was sequel to the fact that Governor Ahmed was making the needed consultations and plans to engage the right hands towards running an all inclusive government.
He explained that the sole responsibility of setting up the State Executive Council and the appointment of aides lies solely with the Governor, assuring that efforts were in top gear to fast track the process of engaging people with proven records of achievements to run the affairs of the state.
Alhaji Balogun-Fulani, who said the situation was not peculiar to the state only as it is also being witnessed in the South West and Northern states, therefore advised those peddling the unfounded rumours to desist forthwith so as not to overheat the polity unnecessary.
He expressed the confidence of the party in the competence and capacity of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to effectively run the affairs of the state and implored the people to exercise patience and support the present administration in the task of consolidating on achievements recorded in the past tenure.
To this end, Balogun-Fulani said the party has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ahmed for excellent performance.
"We want to say unequivocally that Dr Saraki had never interfere in the running of the state. Whenever he comes home, he only attends to the party matters and this is done openly at the 'Charity house' where most party members are present.
"We are happy and proud to note that our amiable governor, Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed has been running the state excellently well. This is the reason why we passed a vote of confidence on him.
"So, we urge the good people of Kwara state to ignore those who are peddling the unfounded rumour and continue to support the administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.”
