This medium had exclusively reported that the embattled ACP, was arrested by a Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad from the Police Headquarters, Abuja, following a tip off.
This paper gathered that some suspected kidnappers kidnapped a victim from Ekiti State and dumped their operations Hilux van at Tanke, Ilorin, following the death of its driver in the process.
According to a police source, the abandoned vehicle had a tracker, which aided in tracing when it was abandoned.
The embattled police chief, it was gathered, allegedly ordered his men to evacuate the abandoned vehicle to his house before the arrival of the special federal anti-robbery squad from Abuja.
Since his arrest in May, this paper learnt that the former ACP has been cooling his fan in the Police Headquarters' cell in Abuja.
A source at the Force Headquarters who confided in our reporter on Friday, said the dismissed ACP was abandoned by some of his colleagues, the development, he said could be responsible for his current condition.
''The last time I saw him (referring to Aboye), was two weeks ago and I noticed he has sight problem. Though, I cannot say precisely what is condition is; I am sure, he is battling with his sight,'' the source said.
Asked what could be responsible for his predicament, the source added: '' I may not be able to say that because, I dont know. But his sight problem may not be unconnected with depression and loneliness.
''He has been deserted by friends and I am not sure if any of his former colleagues has been visiting him. This may put him in a very serious thought and since he is in detention, he may not have access to drugs if he has been battling with sigh problem before his arrest''.
