A driver working with the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has been paraded by the Kwara State Police Command for planning with a gang of robbers to steal a vehicle belonging to the party.
The suspect, identified as Lukman Lanre Adebayo is said to have cooked up a story so as to mislead the Police in the cause of their investigation.

Pilot Crime gathered that the Idi-Ape/Oloje born driver reported at Adewole Police Station that the vehicle was collected along Atiku-Airport road while he was driving towards Egbejila village.
According to Police Spokesperson, ASP Ajayi Okasanmi, Adebayo claimed that the party vehicle, which he was driving was collected from him by a strange man he gave a lift, who later turned out to be a robber at gun point.
“The suspect claimed that one Sharon bus, whose engine number he could not remember was snatched at gun point. The case was taken over by the CID Ilorin and on investigation, it was discovered that the driver only cooked up the story of armed robbery to enable him sell the vehicle”.
The suspect however later confessed to the crime saying that he wanted to mislead the Police because he had already sold the vehicle to one Abdulsalam Taiye at the rate of N250,000.
He further said that he went to withdraw the vehicle and later went to hide it with one Muniru Bello.
“I sold the vehicle at the sum of N250,000 and later changed my mind so I went back to collect it from the person I sold it to and later went to hide it with a friend. It is the devil's work because I don't understand why I did that", he stated.
Meanwhile, Okasanmi added that the police has arrested three suspects in connection with the crime.
"The suspects arrested are Lukman Lanre, Abdulsalam Taiye, Muniru Bello in connection with the green unregistered Sharon bus. The suspects will soon be charged to court”, he declared.
