In a bid to boost its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), the Kwara State Government has began demolition of Fate road setback in order to build shopping complex, Pilot Business can report.
Speaking with Pilot Business on Monday, the acting Director-General, Kwara State Bureau of Land, Alhaji Ibrahim Salman said that it is aimed at boosting revenue generation and enhance economic activities in the state capital.
Prior to the usage of the land by the state government, according to Salman, the land has laid lying fallow while miscreants have been making use of it to unleash terror on innocent passers-by.
He however called for people's cooperation and support for government in its drive to further improve the state economic sector.
Also speaking, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Alhaji Abdullahi Mustapha said, "Developing the Fate road setback is part of urban renewal activities the state government is embarking on across Ilorin metropolis".
According to him, the similar on-going projects at Irewolede Estate along Eid road are offices built on Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement to be rented to interested individuals and corporate organisations.
