The Kwara State Government has solicited the support of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) in the state in the enlightenment of the populace on importance of tax payment.
This, according to the government would boost the new Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) drive in the state.

The Senior Special Assistant (Media and Communications) to the governor, Dr. Muideen Akorede, while receiving the members of the association in his office during the association’s courtesy visit on Friday.
Akorede while thanking the association for the courtesy visit, expressed gratitude of the state government to the association which he said has been a partner in progress and promised the government will always be ready to work with the association.
Speaking on behalf of FIBAN, the Public Relations Officer, Mr Olatunji Mumeen Gbarada emphasised the resolve of the association to always portray the government in good light by always showcasing the various achievements of the government.
Gbarada who emphasised the important role FIBAN plays in information dissemination especially on Radio, affirmed that about 80 per cent of programs on radio stations in the state are anchored by its members.
He however expressed sadness with the seeming non-patronage of the association by the government, “especially during the production of jingles, which is often times contracted out to non members, while at times it is given to practitioners from other state.”
