Comrade Isaac Abiodun Alonge emerged as the Chairman of Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), at Ilorin International Airport on Thursday.

ATSSSAN is an umbrella association under Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) that regulates the welfare of the staff.

Full list of other executives was not available at the time of filling in this report as Pilot Aviation was asked to come back next week for it.

Meanwhile, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria has charged the contracting company working on the Benin Airport, McZoll Resources, to adhere strictly to specification and high standards in the on-going rehabilitation of the airport runway.

The Managing Director of the Authority, Engr. Saleh Dunoma made the call at the Weekend, while embarking on inspection tour of the project, to determine the standards of work being done and pace of work, in order to deliver the project on the estimated date of completion.

He appealed to travellers and other users of the airport facility to bear with the inconveniences caused by the closure of the airport, stressing that safety will continue to be its major anchor.

Dunoma, who was accompanied by the Director of Airport Operations of the Authority, Capt. Henry Omeogu, commended the contractors handling the project, McZoll Resources, for the level of work done so far, but advised on the need to speed up the work in order to meet up with the estimated deadline.

The Managing Director also had an interactive session with members of staff, where he charged them on delivering on the Authority's mandate of safety, security, efficiency and passenger comfort.
