The controversy between Kwara State Government and the authorities of University of Ilorin over property at the Mini Campus has been resolved.
A statement made available to National Pilot by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara Governor, Abdulwahab Oba, said the matter was resolved at a meeting held with management of the University led by its Vice Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniy Ambali.

Besides, UNILORIN’s Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun confirmed the resolution when contacted by our reporter, yesterday.
“It is true. No problem,” Akogun responded in a text message sent to our reporter on Wednesday.
The Secretary to the State Government, Isiaka Ishola Gold led the state delegation in the peace meeting.
According to the statement, the relocation of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service to the University’s temporary site was a temporary measure expected to last not more than three months.
Gold reportedly regretted the inconveniences and controversies generated by the relocation and assured the University authorities that the government “holds the University and other federal agencies in the state in high esteem and would never work to strain the relationship.”
The statement quoted Ambali while responding on behalf of the University, to have “acknowledged the age-long robust relationship between the institution and the state government, expressed optimism that status quo subsists pending the 90 days request by the state.”
Ambali thanked the state government for the promptness with which it handled the matter and invited the state government to the University’s upcoming 40th anniversary.
When the University was to take off in 1975, the premises of the then Government Technical College, Ilorin, was allocated for its speedy take off, pending the completion of its permanent site.
