…says I’m law-abiding, transparent, accountable
Wife of the Senate President, Barrister Toyin Saraki yesterday expressed her preparedness to honour the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC's) invitation for questioning over alleged corruption.
Saraki in a swift response to the report of her invitation said she would be delighted to honour the invitation as a “law-abiding, transparent and accountable private citizen.”

The anti-graft agency also invited daughter of former President Umaru Yar' Adua and wife of former Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Dakingari, Zaina Dakingari, has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged fraud to the tune of N2billion perpetrated during her husband's tenure as governor of the Northwest State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday through her Private Secretary, Akeem Olagoke, the former Kwara First Lady and Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, confirmed the invitation, but added that she had “no idea of what the invitation was pertain to.”
It reads: “Her Excellency Mrs Toyin Saraki, Founder of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa and Wife of the Senate President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has been informed by her office that a letter of invitation was delivered to her office, by and from the EFCC.
“As Her Excellency Mrs Toyin Saraki has no idea what this invitation could pertain to, she has directed an immediate and formal response, to the EFCC, that she will be delighted to assist them with any lawful enquiries they may have, as a law abiding, transparent and accountable private citizen.
“Her Excellency Mrs Toyin Saraki has thus confirmed an appointment date to honour this invitation, at the earliest mutually agreed convenience.”
However, Dakingari on the other hand was reportedly expected to report for questioning at the EFCC headquarters yesterday, but the former Kebbi first lady was said to have sent her words that she was away to Saudi for Umrah (lesser hajj), and pleaded to be allowed to report on July 27, 2015.
