No fewer than 53, 000 pupils sat for 2015 Common Entrance Examinations held on Tuesday across 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State, National Pilot learnt yesterday.

The examination was conducted at 1, 500 centres in the state.

The Director of Examinations, State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mallam Abubakar Ahmed who spoke with our reporter yesterday, said results of the entrance examination would be ready in the next four weeks.

Ahmed frowned at what he called lack of cooperation with the government by the parents and guardians of the pupils regarding registration of their wards for the conduct of the examinations.

He regretted that some parents registered their wards at the examination centres on Tuesday, warning against such recurrence in subsequent examinations.

“I want to urge the parents to register the children on time. Many of them just brought their children for registration at the examinations centres on Tuesday. They should cooperate with us and take their children to the school of choice. At least, they must register three weeks to examinations,” Ahmed who spoke with National Pilot in a telephone conversation, said on Wednesday.

Our reporter who monitored the examination observed that it was busy at the examination centres and pupils and their parents stormed centres as early as 10am.

Centres visited were Saint Anthony Secondary School along Offa Road, Queen Elizabeth School, among others.
