Folorunso Funmilayo Omolara is a Nollywood Actress, she opens up to MOJIRADE DURODOLA on her acting career. Excerpts:

Background and Education

My name is Folorunso Funmilayo Omolara aka FFO, I attended Happy Day Nursery and Primary School, Ogun State, my secondary education was at Epic Model College, Ijebu Ode and I graduated from Ajayi Crowther University Oyo, Oyo state, where I studied Business Administration.

What makes you change your career to acting?

I've loved acting since I was in secondary school, I was in the drama group and people always tell me its in me that I can do it, that I actually have the capacity to act.

Who is your role model in the industry?

My role model in the industry is Mercy Aigbe.

Why did you choose Mercy Aigbe as your role model?

Well, I made mercy Aigbe my role model because she's a good actress, mother, sister and when I see her in a movie, she inspires me that I can do what she is doing and even more.

What has been your awkward moment since you started acting?

My awkward moment is when I was asked to sleep with a director of a company in a movie I supposed to act in but I declined and lost the role.

How many movies have you featured in?

Well, I have featured just in four movies because I've been busy doing other things for my survival as a young lady.

Mention those movies

Oloburo, Omo Mushin, Eega, Timu-timu but I still have a big plan for the industry as I will be going into it fully.

What roles do you like acting in movies?

The part I like being featured in a movie is the normal girls stuff, club and all.

Have you ever featured as a main actress in the movies?

Yes, Oloburo is a village setting where I acted as a princess ... coming out soon.

Do you like wearing tatoo?

Tattoos, No no no, I don't like wearing tatoo.

What is your view about those who wear tattoo?

Mehn...they have their reasons for wearing it so I can't really say anything for those who wear it.

How can you describe your fashion sense?

My fashion sense is actually simple, as an up coming actress I try to look simple, and take my time to look best but I will improve as time goes on.

How has piracy affected the Nollywood industry?

Oh! Piracy is killing the movie industry...the producers are not getting the money they put in for the movie and they are not making profit at all.

What advice will you give those people that buy pirated CDs?

I am begging my fans out there to please stay away from pirated CDs, its not helping us, its unfair and moreover, it is not always clear when you watch it.

Are you into any relationship with any of your colleagues in the industry?

I'm in a relationship but not with my colleague in the industry

Is your guy aware of your acting career?

Well I told him about the acting and he's okay with it and he's been supportive.

Are your parents aware of your acting career?

My dad is late and my mum doesn't have any problem with what I do, she just wants what will make me happy.

What kind of hairstyle do you like wearing?

I prefer wearing the best hair that fits and which look nice on me.

Who actually brought you into the Nollywood industry?

Wow! That's a big question... I've actually been moving with people in the industry since 2010 but I started acting through Murphy Afolabi so he actually brought me into acting.

What name are you given in the industry?

Asakeade is the name they like calling me in the industry.

Why do you like been called Asakeade?

Its my real name, because my colleagues prefer me being called Asake to Funmi.

What is your words to your fans?

I wanna tell them I love them so much and I promise them the best and never would disappoint them.
