New Service Chiefs formally take over today

The newly appointed service chiefs will formally assume office after the official handover from their immediate predecessors today (Thursday) at the service headquarters, Abuja.
This was confirmed on Wednesday in a text message by the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR), who said that the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in addition to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Naval Staff (CDS) and Chief of Air Staff (CAS) will all commence their official duties.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday announced the replacement of all the Security Chiefs with the exception of the Inspector General of Police who was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan a few weeks before the end of his tenure.
