Area Boys fight over demolished building

Penultimate Saturday will linger in the minds of residents of Osere, a suburb in Ilorin metropolis as hoodlums engage in a free for all over debris from a demolished building.

The hoodlums in there hundreds besieged the site which is proposed for the construction of a filling station, when they got wind that the owner plans on demolishing the structure on the piece of land.

They stormed the site requesting for money before work can continue on the site, the engineer on site simply identified as KB Jimoh promised to get across to the owner of the site which he referred as Alhaji Abdullahi, he however asked the hoodlums to make away with the debris from the demolished site as he would not pay them a dime.

After Hours however gathered that Abdullahi had to cough out N18million for the site which includes a story building and an expanse of land.

The hoodlums not wanting to 'lose' out entirely quickly negotiated with Saw-mill iron marketers for the iron in the debris, while they requested for N1million the buyer insisted on paying N500,000.

It was however gathered that the sharing formula led to fisticuffs amongst the hoodlums and dangerous weapons were freely used. A guy simply identified as 'number 1' was alleged to have shared the money amongst the hoodlums.
