Anti-Party: APC replaces Sen Ahmed Mohammed as BoT member

The Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has replaced the name of former Senator Ahmed Mohammed as a member of the party's Board of Trustees (BoT), Pilot Politics has authoritatively gathered.

Ahmed is a two-term senator from Baruten Local Government who represented Kwara North Senatorial District at the National Assembly between 2003 and 2011

He was among the 25 members that were suspended by the Kwara Chapter of the party for alleged anti-party activities.

The party was said to have written to the National body of the APC in Abuja informing it about the latest development.

Although the person appointed by the party to replace him could not be confirmed by this medium at as press time, the party's action was allegedly connected to the recent suspension order placed on him by the party.

According to a source who spoke to this medium on the matter, the leader of the party in the state and Senate President, Bukola Saraki has also been informed about Mohammed's replacement.

“The party has replaced him (Senator Ahmed Muhammed) with another person as a member of the party's Board of Trustee (BoT) in the state.

“A letter has been written to the national hierarchy of the party in Abuja to that effect notifying them of the replacement.

“A copy of the letter was also forwarded to the Senate President who has also endorsed it”, a source told this medium on Tuesday.

The composition of the BoT membership includes two senators representing each of the six geopolitical zones and a member representing each state and the FCT.

The list which has reportedly been ratified by the party at its last NEC meeting also include the President, his Vice, leaders of the party including Atiku Abubakar and Senator Bola Tinubu, the party's National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara.

Others are all APC governors, all past governors (civilian of military), Chief Bisi Akande, Audu Ogbe, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Prince Tony Momoh, Chief Barnabas Gemade, National Secretary of APC, Mallam Mai Mala Muni among others.
