Akpom targets first-team with Arsenal

Arsenal's teen star Chuba Akpom is eager to earn a first-team spot after bagging an hat-trick against Singapore Select XI on Wednesday.
Akpom who featured seven times for Arsenal last campaign went home with the match ball as the set up a final clash against EPL side Everton in the Asia Trophy tour after spanking Singapore Select XI 4-0.
"Scoring goals is the best feeling, but more importantly the team won," the 19-year-old said after the game.
"The manager told me to work hard and go and express myself.
"I have been trying for a few years now, working hard and trying to show the boss what I am made of.
"Hopefully I can keep my place in the team." the former Brentford and Coventry forward concluded.
