Hoodlums attack Kwara lawmaker, snatch vehicle

Some suspected hoodlums have attacked a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Suleiman and disposed him of his vehicle, KIA, with registration Number KWHA 39.

National Pilot gathered that the lawmaker was attacked with bottles and iron at Oshogbo road residence in Ilorin, state capital.

It was learnt that Suleiman was attacked at the entrance of his home when the incidence happened two weeks ago.

Our reporter gathered that the vehicle was however, recovered where it was abandoned by men of the Kwara Police Command.

The lawmaker confirmed the attack yesterday when contacted National Pilot, but declined further details.

When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident and added that the stolen car was recovered by the police.

Okasanmi said no arrest has been made on the incident.

He said: "Information received from one Honorable member of the House of Assembly Mohammed Suleiman of No 12 Oshogbo road that around 9.00pm he was attacked with bottles and iron rods at the entrance gate of his house by unidentified hoodlums who instantly dispossessed him of his official KIA car with registration KWHA39".

“Combined efforts by patrol teams consisting of area Commander Metropolis, State CIID and DPO kulende who activated their informants and sources led to the eventual recovery of the vehicle from where it was abandoned by the hoodlums due to the massive onslaught lunched by the police".
