The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Alanamu ward, Ilorin west local government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Jimoh has debunked the news making the round that the ward chapter of the party in connivance with a former House of Representatives member for Ilorin West/Asa federal constituency, Hon Moshood Mustapha imposed Alhaji AbdulRasaq Solihu (Abosioyoyan) and others on the ward without the input from relevant stakeholders for appointment in the yet to be inaugurated cabinet of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Jimoh who spoke with this medium on the matter on Tuesday in Ilorin maintained that the choice of Abosioyoyan for commissionership followed due process and was ratified by the party's caucus at an enlarge meeting in its secretariat at Agbo-Oba attended by party bigwigs from the local council.
According to him, Moshood Mustapha did not impose his aide on the ward but due process was followed in arriving at the list for appointments adding that they still stand by the decision on the list of nominees submitted.
He said Abosioyoyan qualifies for the nomination both in his capacity as a loyal party man and through zoning which his senatorial districts in Alanamu is the most favoured.
“We held a meeting on the issue today (Tuesday) in the ward and the house stand by our decision which had earlier been ratified by the party's caucus in Ilorin West.
“Myself, the ward councillor, Hon Moshood Mustapha, Alhaji Saka Isau, Alhaji Isiaka Gold (SSG), Alhaji Kayode Yusuf (MAJA), Alhaji Saadu Agaka, among others were all present and by that we have followed due process.
“There was no complaint from any quarters that was brought to my attention not until the faceless group emerge with that allegation.
“Abosioyoyan has always been a party man and a politician of note within Alanamu and he qualifies for the nomination by all standards. It is the party that can determine whether he qualifies or not
“At the last dispensation, there were two key positions, one commissioner from senatorial A and C each, B was not left out but was given caucus member and that can definitely not be compared to the post of a commissioner.
“But this time around, we have two positions and even if it is only one, it can only come from senatorial B where Abosioyoyan hails from because A and C had had the opportunity of producing commissioners in the last dispensation” he added.
Describing the issue as the dynamics of Politics, Jimoh said there would always be disenchanted people or some who feel that because they didn't have this opportunity, they would have to react one way or the other.
He therefore advised that only God gives positions and when “it their time, they will get their opportunity”.
