Accused him of imposing aide, Abosioyoyan, for commissionership
I was duly screened – Abosioyoyan
The last may not have been heard about the rancour that has reportedly generated across the 16 local government areas of the state following the purported directive of the state's chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for each LG to submit 12 names each in consideration for appointment in the next cabinet of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

National Pilot gathered that a top leader of the party, who represented Ilorin West /Asa Federal Constituency in the 7th National Assembly, Hon. Moshood Mustapha, has been accused by some stakeholders in Alanamu Ward, Ilorin West Local Government, of allegedly foisting his ex-Chief of Staff and Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Solihu Abosioyoyan and others on the ward without the input from relevant stakeholders for appointment.
Abosioyoyan and Alhaja Ramata Oganija are among candidates whose names were reportedly submitted for the posts of commissioner and Special Adviser respectively from the ward.
A source, who spoke with this medium on the matter last night, alleged that the issue was still generating concerns from stakeholders in the local government, who according to him, had threatened to resist any form of imposition by some party bigwigs.
The source further maintained that all the names agreed upon by the ward caucus in Alanamu were never discussed at the stakeholders' meeting, alleging that they were just nominees shortlisted at the party’s caucus.
“In Alanamu ward, Ilorin West Local Government, for instance, none of the stakeholders was aware or invited to any meeting where names of AbdulRazaq Solihu Abosioyoyan and Alhaja Ramata Oganija, among others reportedly shortlisted and submitted.
“Even at the caucus meeting where names were collated, names where just written and submitted without any input from the stakeholders”
“Moshood Mustapha is the one that influenced the choice of Abosioyoyan and others by flaunting his position of being close to the leader of the party in the state.
One of the ward's stakeholders, who spoke with our reporter last night on the matter, on the condition of anonymity, described the action as a deliberate plot to get cronies fixed and positioned for Governor Ahmed's incoming cabinet.
The stakeholder, however, vowed to resist the alleged imposition, alleging that the selection process was heavily flawed and unacceptable.
“Abosioyoyan is not from Senatorial ‘B’ in Alanamu ward, which by arrangement, should produce the commissioner because those who served in the last administration were from senatorial ‘A’ and ‘C’ respectively.
“The zone where Abosioyoyan hails from is the same with MM and it will interest you to know that they are even from the same compound. The zone had earlier produced a one-time chairman of the local council, Alhaji Baba Akota.
Abosioyoyan is also a one-time member of federal board and equally contested and lost in the election that produced the incumbent Chairman of the council, Alhaji Tajudeen Zulu Oloje, this is apart from other several patronage he had received at the expense of other zones.
“Every stakeholder must have a say on who represents the ward in the government and anything short of that will be stoutly resisted”, the source added.
But when contacted on telephone last night, Mustapha advised the aggrieved parties to wait for their time, adding that Abosioyoyan has been a very loyal member of the party.
“I am just hearing it (the complaint) for the first time. I think, he (Abosioyoyan) was a well- accepted choice when we had the Ilorin West caucus meeting at Agbo-Oba. It followed an extensive discussion and deliberation.
“Moreover, he has been very consistent with the party and has never deviated despite the fact that he had contested and lost out in previous position he had contested.
Also reacting, Abosioyoyan also told this medium that such allegation is baseless, claimingn that he went through the appropriate screening process.
“There is no allegation like that. its a complete lie. The youth and all the executives and stakeholders in the local government including MM have accepted the names we submitted and we all went through the screening process with other party members”, he added.
