Mixed reactions have continued to trail the sack of the Nigeria's Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, as ex-international Mutiu Adepoju described the action as inappropriate.

Reacting to Keshi's sack in an exclusive interview with Pilot Sports yesterday, former Super Eagles player, Adepoju who faulted the Nigeria Football Federation, said this is not the right time to terminate the appointment of the national team head coach, Stephen Keshi.

Former Real Betis of Spain striker said the development will definitely course distraction to the team, which may affect the performance of the team.

It would be recalled that the NFF had recently terminated the appointment of Edwin Okon, former Super Falcons Coach.

"I said this a week ago that NFF are coursing distraction to the team and this is not good for us because we are planning towards 2017 Nations Cup qualifiers, so the team need full concentration.

“This time that we are preparing for competitions, coaches are being sacked. This is the time the NFF is supposed to sit down and think of how to move the team forward.

"Now that the NFF has finally sacked Coach Stephen Keshi, we are planning for another failure because this is not going to help our football as far as I'm concern", adepoju reacted.

The Nigeria Football Federation had on Saturday terminated the appointment of Stephen Keshi as Head Coach of the Senior National Football Team, Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles' team will now be jointly managed by Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf and the Technical Directorate of the NFF headed by Coach Shuaibu Amodu, until a substantive head coach is named by the Federation.
