Anti-Party: I can’t leave APC – Sen Ahmed Moh’d

A former two-time, who represented Kwara North Senatorial District, Ahmed Mohammed, yesterday further reacted to his suspension by the state's chapter of the All Progressives Congress, saying he would never leave the party.

Mohammed, who was in the Senate between 2003 and 2011, had been suspended alongside other party chieftains in his Baruten Local Government Area of the state for anti-party.
Other members suspended included the former Chairman, House Committee on Information in the 7th legislature of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Adamu Sabi, the chairman of the Local Government, Muhammed Omar Bio among others.
According to Mohammed, who spoke through a telephone chat with our reporter, ‘he has always been a party man and irrespective of the present situation, he will remain with the party.”
The state APC had since replicated the suspension with that of a former Secretary to State Government, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Saka Cook Olododo from Ilorin East bringing the number to 25.
Others suspended from Ilorin East are; Alhaji Tunde Saad; Mr Mashood Dauda; Mr Oba Sulaiman Asude; Mr Lukman Adeloyin; Alhaji Wahab Tobe; Mr Sa'ad Yero; Mr Iyanda Olori; Alhaji Amuda Bembe; Alhaji Amuda Musbau and Mr Zafi Saka Adanla.
Also suffered the same fate are; Alhaji AbdulRaheem Adanla; Alhaji Abdrahaman Sa'ad; Alhaji Saliman Rasak (Rasaki Pupa); Hon. Raimi Akanji; Alhaji Baba Alata; Alhaji Raufu Asude and Mr Fatai Olodo.
The chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Balogun-Fulani had told National Pilot that those suspended might be expelled entirely or accepted depending on the gravity of their offence as determines by the disciplinary committee set up by the party.
“It depends on the situation at the end of the day. It is not a rigid thing that they must be taken back and not a rigid thing that they must be suspended. It depends on the gravity of the anti-party. We have met some people and some of them can be reprimanded, expelled, fined, queried and even suspended.
The exercise, it was further gathered was ongoing that will cut across other local governments where petition were received.
