AAG: NBF to invite 60 boxers to camp

The Nigeria Boxing Federation, NBF, will invite 60 boxers to camp by in preparation for the All Africa Games billed for Brazzaville, Congo.
This was disclosed by Brigadier- General Y.P. Auta, who was the special guest on the final day of the 1st Kenneth Minimah National Open Boxing Championship.
According to Auta, the 60 boxers will be selected from the over 250 boxers from across Nigeria who participated in the four day championship.
Meanwhile, it was victory on the final day of the championship for 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games boxers; Waheed Shogbamu, Kehinde Obareh, Edith Agu, Efetobor Apochi, Efe Ajagba and Kehinde Ademuyiwa.
Representing the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Shogbamu defeated Samuel Opaogun from Cross River State. The duo of Obareh and Agu, fighting for the Nigerian Army, were victorious against Rivers State's Akinola Dupe and Jacinta Umunmakwe of Akwa Ibom State respectively.
Ademuyiwa of the Civil Defence beat Monday Yusuf of Oyo State. Gabriel Francis from Lagos State lost to Apochi from Delta State, while Ajagba, also from Delta, overcame Ibrahim Segun from Lagos.
Speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com, Shogbamu who was also at the 2011 All Africa Games, expressed his delight after winning his fight.
“I am very happy because I prepared very well for the fight, and at the end of the day, I was able to defeat my opponent, so I am glad.”
On her part, Obareh said she went all out for victory to prove a point.
