Nigeria's John Obi Mikel and his Chelsea team mates touched down in Australia yesterday shortly after 2:00am Nigerian time.

On arrival at Sydney International Airport the Jose Mourinho led side were mobbed by hundreds of local supporters who had turned out to greet them. The players posed for photos and signed autographs as they made their way through the terminal. According to the team's program as released on the Blues' official website, Mourinho and two of his players will later in the day speak to members of the local media before an open training session tomorrow ahead of Tuesday's game against Sydney FC, with over 80,000 tickets having been sold. The first match of the Blues' post-season trip took place in Bangkok yesterday, when Dominic Solanke scored the only goal of the game in a victory over the Thailand All-Stars with Nigeria's John Obi Mikel playing making 45 minutes appearance.
