The Elesa of Oke-Ode land in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Adelodun, has urged the state government to provide lacking infrastructural facilities and medical personnel to the School of Nursing and the Specialist Hospital both in Oke-Ode.

Besides, the Monarch asked the government to provide basic amenities for the town as well as other rural dwellers in the state.

While speaking with National Pilot over the weekend at his palace, he thanked the state government for embarking on the construction of the Share/Oke-Ode link road and also the completion of Oke-Ode school of Nursing and opening same for academic session in his first term.

He, however, enjoined the government to complete its various ongoing projects and initiate new ones in the community, like the completion of the Ultra-Modern Palace the state government is building for the town; upgrading of the traditional stool to first class; construction of more hostels for the Oke-Ode School of Nursing among others.

“This government has been very good to our community; the government had commenced the dualisation of Share/Oke-Ode link road; commencement of academic programme at the Oke-Ode School of Nursing; construction of Ultra-Modern Palace among others.

“Work has however stopped at the Share/Oke-Ode link road, due to paucity of funds. Also the Oke-Ode School of Nursing has inadequate hostel facility, while the Specialist hospital is currently having the problem of inadequate medical personnel. This has led to the Nursing School students travelling all the way to Offa for practicals.

“The Specialist hospital is also under staffed, as the number of patients out-numbered the available personnel; we implore government to help to transfer more quality hands to the hospital.

“Also, we plead for the posting of more security personnel to the town, especially civil defence officials, to help combat crime and maintain peace and tranquility in the town,” he added.
