Credit to Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed that have used the LEAH foundation to promote the wellbeing of Kwarans this last four years. The establishment of LEAH Foundation was inspired by Mrs. Ahmed's experiences with people challenged by their different situations in Life and with the strong conviction that Life Empowered, Anchors Hope from which the acronym LEAH was coined. In the last four years LEAH Foundation has provided more opportunities to touch lives in social welfare, health and education with an action plan geared towards fighting maternal and infant mortality, unemployment, poverty and illiteracy. Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed is a reference point in social work in the country and beyond the shores of Nigeria. It is however, the considered opinion of this journalist that more collaboration with international agencies, global outreache(s) and very important personalities across the globe should be sought to bring relieve and succour to beneficiaries of this laudable programme as another term of office commence today 29th May, 2015. Back home, LEAH Foundation should enter into a concretized agreement with a solid micro-finance company to provide soft loans, trading tools including grinding machines, deep freezers, hair dressing equipment, generators and start up capitals while market women and associations get interest free loans. Furthermore, a special unit should handle widows plight as well as supporting the wellbeing of their children. The disabled welfare should also be considered with more priority for cash grant so that they can start a livelihood, not all disabled are not able to use their hands and heads to make fortune for themselves. Those that are not battered should benefit from LEAH Foundation largesse in terms of wheel chairs, tricycles, crutches, hearing aids and provision of artificial limbs. The next four years, the health scheme, the Omolewa Safe Motherhood that is an initiative providing affordable health care for mothers and their infants, should make sure that MDGS 4 and 5 is achievable in all cottage and maternity hospitals in the sixteen Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The LEAH Medical/Trust Fund have performed wonderfully well in the last four years that have cared for so many Kwarans with deficiency in heart surgenes, kidney transplants, cancers, multiple births and caesarian sections. The eagle eye of LEAH Foundation at making the fund achieved its set targets is highly commendable and Kwarans expect more in the next four years. This Media Scholar is encouraged with Psalm 92:12-14 that Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed has a great courage and deep devotion to Kwarans through her Charity will continue to flourish and prosper, continue to offer a helping hand to the needy and above all, history will adjudged her a rightful place that she has unrepentant courage to exterminate despondency from the Society.
