The first lesson one can learn from the just concluded general elections, especially the presidential election, is how to manage crisis. In the final stages of the election, towards the final announcement of the results the calm and maturity with which the INEC Boss, Professor Atahiru Jega handled the unruly behavior of a former Minister of Niger Delta, Godson Orubebe is a lesson that can't be taught in the classroom.

At that point when all nerves were tensed and any slight provocation could have snowballed into a full scale fracas the controlled mien with which the INEC boss took all the accusation in his strides has earned him the right to “jegalised all orubebes”. It is worthy of note that if Jega had not handled the confrontation with serious caution, the peaceful process of the electoral activities could have been derailed and subsequently the nation would have been plunged into another round of crisis. Orubebe was later described as enemy of progress because if he had succeeded in destructing the proceedings, the whole exercise would have been paralyzed now. Professor Jega, in his response later described Orubebe who is former Minister and a statesman in his own right to be careful about what he said and to be careful of his public conduct. This action by the INEC Chairman saved the whole situation, the whole exercise might have been destroyed and Nigerians by now might have been wrangling and may not have been in peace as we have it now. It is believed that the actions of Godson Orubebe, was because he had seen that his party, the People Democratic Party PDP was failing and according to emerging revelations, it was a smoke to kidnapped Jega that was why he fervently stood to accused him with expectation that he would leave the table for an emergency meeting so as to execute their plan. But Jega foiled their plan by keeping calm until he was able to address the situation. Another lesson is perseverance. The perseverance of the then President-elect, General Muhammed Buhari and his doggedness and unrelenting stance brought him to this point. A point where he was called the president-elect and eventually sworn-in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has shown us that even when we fail it is not the end of life. We can pick up the pieces of our life and surge ahead. All said and done now, God has really made it at last for All Progressives Party (APC), in all elections, they won the presidential polls, and they had large numbers in the Senate and House of Representatives. They won 19 Governors seat out of 36 and were favoured in the States House of Assembly seats. Based on these successes of APC in the Country, Nigerians are full of expectations, They are expecting a positive changes in the Leadership of GMB because Nigerian believe so much in him, he's a man of great respect, He's a man of Honour, A man of dignity who is ready to fight corruption to a standstill. He has done it before and can still do better if giving a chance. The success of General Muhammed Buhari is in the hand of those who surrounded him, if he succeed in his Government I believe it is the success of all Nigerians. Our Country Nigeria is presently derailed. The good people of this country are yearning for positive changes, now the change as finally comes! The question we need to ask ourselves now is that; Do these leaders really meant well for us? Do they really want change? If they want that change to come, why are some of these politicians looking for power by all cost? People are dying every day all for the sake of sacrifice and who knows who is killing them? Some people said they are selves centered politicians who had served in the past and still want to serve again! Concerned Nigerians need to pray fervently for this country to be great again. With the Lord, all things are possible and I believe strongly that, no amount of problems that cannot be solved with prayer, I pray Lord to save us, I mean Nigeria from total collapse. May God assist General Muhammadu Buhari, to steer the ship of this country to a greater height, God bless Nigeria...Kukuru kuuuuu... “Olalekan Issa-Onilu, is the Press Secretary, State.
