Following the inability of 20 states to pay it workers’ salaries, an Educationist, Kehinde Abiola, over the weekend, volunteered to proffer solution that will address the situation. Abiola, who spoke in Osogbo, also faulted the state governors for their inability to pay their workers, and disclosed that he was ready to assist Osun State with meaningful solution that would take it out of the current financial downturn. The educationist, who is the Chairman, Living Spring College of Technology and Innovation, said he is ready to help any governor that is ready to pay the workers’ salary with ease and as at when due. He noted that there are some ways of improving the states’ revenue without multiple taxation, stressing that blockage of unnecessary loopholes are panacea to the problem facing the governors. According to him, "We have a ground design to intervene in the problem of government's inability to pay salary, and the kind of our intervention is not what people are doing because we are not politicians. "We all know that there is paucity of funds due to the dwindling allocation from the Federal Government. The revenue base of some states, especially Osun is low. We want to come in to support the state government to improve on its revenue base without hurting the populace. Commenting on the blueprint to achieve its objectives, Abiola noted that a committee had been set up with the Global Centre for Research and Policy Development, assuring that the programme will be replicated by other states after it might have succeeded in Osun State.
