Kwara Police Command arrests fake number plate manufacturer

* Recovers 13 stolen vehicles, releases 5 to owners.
The Kwara State Police Command yesterday confirmed to Pilot Crime in an exclusive interview that some persons involved in the manufacturing of fake plate numbers have been arrested. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ajayi Okasanmi said that the culprits have been manufacturing Lagos plate numbers and where discovered.

According to him "through our investigations, we discovered that stealing of vehicles with Lagos plate numbers is on the high side in the state, and during our investigations we discovered that they were fake numbers. The numbers of person arrested cannot be ascertain now". Meanwhile, the State Command also recovered not less than thirteen stolen vehicles in the state within the month of April and June. Twenty two vehicles were recorded stolen within Ilorin metropolis from the fourteen Police divisions in the metropolis. A document exclusively obtained from the state Police Command by this medium, indicates that five of the recovered cars has since been released to their owners while nine of the stolen vehicles are yet to be recovered. Breakdown of the vehicles and where it was stolen shows that three vehicles were stolen from F division, Two from 'G' Division, five from 'B' division, eight from 'D' division and four from 'A' division, respectively. Te recovered vehicles are KIA Optimal with Reg No: FIRE1, Nissan Quest with reg number Lagos CP 127LSD, Audi A6 with reg number, Abuja BWR 599 AA ash colour, Honda Ridge line with registration number Lagos JJ 77 DH and Mazda MPU with registration number FUF 754 AA ash colour.
