The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, on Wednesday wielded its axe on dissenting members, as it suspended a former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Saka Cook Olododo from the party for the duration of one year. National Pilot in its last week Thursday's edition has exclusively reported the impending suspension of Olododo for alleged anti-party activities. The embattled Olododo had initially been alleged to have worked for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the Presidential election in the state held in March. Olododo, who reacted exclusively to this medium on the matter last night during a telephone chat, however, said the party has not communicated him about the development. “I am not aware of that and have not been communicated to that effect by anybody. I am not even in town”, he added. An APC member, Alhaji Tunde Sa'ad was also placed on one year suspension. The other 16 APC members, who were suspended for six months are Mr Mashood Dauda, Mr Oba Sulaiman Asude, Mr Lukman Adeloyin, Alhaji Wahab Tobe, Mr Sa'ad Yero, Mr Iyanda Olori, Alhaji Amuda Bembe, Alhaji Amuda Musbau and Mr Zafi Saka Adanla. Others are Alhaji AbdulRaheem Adanla, Alhaji Abdrahaman Sa'ad, Alhaji Saliman Rasak (Rasaki Pupa), Hon. Raimi Akanji, Alhaji Baba Alata, Alhaji Raufu Asude? and Mr Fatai Olodo?. The suspended eighteen members are from Ilorin East Local Government area of the State. According to the leadership of the party in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the suspension followed the recommendations of an Investigative and Disciplinary Committee (IDC) chaired by Alhaji Dare Garba, which probed the anti-party activities of the affected persons during the 2015 general elections. The latest development brings to 25 the number of members so far suspended from the party after the last general elections. It would be recalled that the party had heralded the suspension saga from Baruten Local Government with that of Senator Mohammed Ahmed, a former member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Alhaji Adamu Sabi, and Chairman Baruten Local Government, Muhammed Omar Bio, Alhaji Aliyu Kora Sabi and Muhammed Sunu Gofe. Others are Alhaji Abdulrasheed Lafia Ibrahim, Alh. Samari Abdullahi and Alh. Abubakar Abdullahi Gunu. Meanwhile, the party has requested local government members to nominate commissioners and advisers to serve in the new cabinet of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. The APC said nominees for the positions of Commissioners and Special Advisers will work with the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration in the quest to deliver the Shared Prosperity Agenda in Kwara State. According to the guidelines for nomination, three nominees will be nominated from each of the 16 LGAs of Kwara State. The party directed in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Suleiman Buhari that out of the three nominees per LGA, there must be at least a female and a youth The LGAs are however advised to ensure fairness and equity in the nomination process so that all areas within the LGAs are adequately and fairly taken care of. The statement said in the nomination of potential Commissioners and Special Advisers, the LGAs are advised to consider loyalty, experience, education, competence and integrity. In the same light, the leadership of APC in Kwara State has called for nominations into the LGA caucus of the party. Six nominees are expected from each LGA, out of which four nominees will be selected and inaugurated into the APC LGA caucus.
