He added that Saraki's emergence as Senate President is a reality everybody must accept and live with. The University Don, who spoke with this medium in a telephone interview in Ilorin, said the issue of party supremacy is not obtainable anywhere in world, adding that politics is all about competing interests of political players, which at times lead to conflicts. Saliu advised President Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as well as the APC's national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to work in tandem in the interest of the country for the APC-led federal government to achieve its lofty campaign promises. “Saraki should quickly put together a legislative agenda, and he must carry his colleagues along, during the agenda setting and implementation, as time wait for no one. He must have the interest of the masses at heart at all times and must endeavour to lead a National Assembly that will be pro-masses at all times, both through action and legislations. “President Muhammadu Buhari, Saraki and Tinubu must work in tandem at all times in the collective interest of the nation for the APC to be able to actualise all its campaign promises. While Buhari and Saraki lead the executive and the legislative arms, respectively, they must cooperative with each other; Tinubu needs to align the party with both arms of government for service delivery and unity of purpose. He thereafter advised political parties in the country to wake up to the reality that absolute party supremacy is non-existent anywhere in the world. According to him, the emergence of the leadership of the Senate from the two leading political parties was a welcome development, which will ensure national stability as both parties will have to work together before anything scales through in the Senate.“The leadership composition, which comprises the two leading political parties in the country, APC and PDP, with 49 and 59 senators respectively, shows no party can singlehandedly determine the fate of the Senate and it means party interest will never override national interest,” he added.
