ely. According to the president of Oro-Ago Development Union (ODU), Chief Richard Olaniyi, "On Friday, June 12, a set of four Police officers led by one Inspector Femi in a Toyota Hummer Bus with registration Number MA 892EKY and two Hilux Patrol Vans, stormed the community around 7.00am and started indiscriminate shooting and arrest our people. "Their action was contrary to what they told our monarch, Oba Johnson Olarewaju Dada, that they were on a peace mission and also to visit places where the incident occurred. "The purported peace mission turned bloody as the police released live bullets on hapless women, who were peacefully protesting the arrest of their men. Meanwhile, the women of the community were said to be protesting the arrest of some six men that was made earlier in April. An eye witness, who spoke to the Press men, Karimu Aremu, said he was on his farm when two Fulani Bororo came and threatened to kill him in the farm. "I was on my farm hoeing when two Fulani Bororo came and said they would kill me, I begged them to please kill me by the roadside so that my dead body can be found. I was asked if I would follow the Police to Abuja, which I agreed to, later on our way (trekking) to the roadside, another elderly man was captured, what I observed was that the bororo's were making phone calls and I discovered they were calling the police. They gave the description of where we were, after an hour, the police came and they took us away into the Oro-Ago community. When we got there, we saw women protesting and a police officer shot into their amidst. One person died instantly and the other person was injured severely". The community pleaded with the Inspector General of Police to fish out the culprits, especially the police who pulled the trigger, which killed the innocent woman.
