The House of Representatives member-elect for Isin/Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Hon Funke Adedoyin, has debunked rumours making the round in some quarters about her disposition to the senate president ambition of Senator Bukola Saraki.
There have been insinuations that some of the ACN block among the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Kwara State origin has maintained silence despite the gale of endorsements and prayers that had tailed Saraki’s bid in the state.
Speaking to this medium on the issue in a telephone chat on Wednesday, the former minister of state for Health during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, said nothing can be farther from the truth and described the allegation as baseless.
“How can people just concoct a story and give it wings to fly. This kind of thing really baffles me and I must confess; I am just hearing it from you for the first time.
“But while would I not support Senator Bukola Saraki for the Senate President. If I don’t support him, who else will I now support, she queried.
The issue of senate president had been a subject of high wire politicking among Saraki (Kwara-Central) and Ahmed Lawan (Yobe North) who is believed to be enjoying the backing of a National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
