Omotosho observed that having senate president of Kwara origin "will help in uplifting the state to enjoy more dividends of democracy from the Federal Government to the benefit of the good people of the state."

A statement issued on Sunday in Ilorin by his Special Assistant on Youth and Student Matters, Comrade Charles Olufemi Folayan, maintained that "Omotosho has nothing personal against Sen. Bukola Saraki but he is committed to people-oriented politics and freedom of choice and good governance for Kwarans."

The former governorship candidate said his ambition was to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

The statement said Omotosho pledged to support any matter that will better the lives of the people of Kwara through direct empowerment and good governance which he will continue to do with or without occupying any elective office.

The statement added that Omotosho would have mobilised more support for Saraki's emergence as senate president even if he had won the gubernatorial election under the Labour Party.

He joined other Kwarans in prayer for Saraki''s emergence and continue to give support to the success of all Kwarans irrespective of political affiliation.
