With the Seventh KWHA gradually winding down and new members-elect gearing up to be sworn in on 4th June, 18 out of the 24 members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, who are not returning are gradually preparing for life after office Pilot Politics can report.

This medium observed that some of the affected members have started packing their belongings from the legislative quarters and offices at the Assembly complex, while some are yet to vacate their offices.

It would be recalled that the government under Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed had privatised the legislative quarters, with the legislators given a right of first refusal.

While some of the legislators subscribed to the privatisation, others declined due to lack of interest or financial muscle.

This medium's findings shows that the outgoing lawmakers have started packing their belongings out of the legislative quarters since Monday last week (18th May, 2015), while some are relocating to their personal houses within the metropolis, others are allegedly said to have relocated outside the state.

On Friday (22nd May 2015), around 9:30am, one of the outgoing lawmakers from Kwara North was seen with his wife and children driving out of the legislative quarters, with some of his belongings.

While the Lawmaker and his family were in his official car, their belongings were in a black Honda Sequoia.

According to a family source, who craved anonymity, “The entire family is relocating to Lagos, while some of the belongings have been transported to the village.

We've been relocating to Lagos gradually before the election, the lawmaker has even changed the school of his children, in preparation of his eventual permanent relocation to Lagos.”

It would be recalled that all lawmakers from Kwara North could not fly their party's ticket for re-election, therefore, they all have been planning life after office since the All Progressives Congress's (APC) primaries in November last year.

The said lawmaker, who is alleged to have vast business interest in the nation's commercial capital, is allegedly gearing up to face his business fully after so many years absence due to his political sojourn, as he has been actively involved in politics since 2003.
