An Abuja based legal practitioner and public Affairs commentator, Barrister Ebun Adegoruwa, has added his voice to the growing call on the incoming Senators-elect to as a matter of national importance and stability of the polity, elect Senator Bukola Saraki as its Presiding officer.

Adegoruwa, who was featuring on a radio programme tagged ‘Political platform’, yesterday (Wednesday), described the Senate Presidential bid of Senator Bukola Saraki as a welcome development that should be welcome by all lovers of national cohesion, stability and tranquillity.
He alluded to Saraki’s experience in both the private and public sectors, where within a short period of time, he rose to the pinnacle with excellent records, added to these, "is his considerable youthfulness and political maturity, coupled with his international exposure", he said.
“Saraki has within the spate of some years in politics distinguished himself as a thorough bred politician, who has always placed national interest above personal or regional interest, the National Assembly under him will ensure national cohesion, Stability and tranquillity,” he added.
Adegoruwa, who also commented on the asset declaration canvased making the declared assets and liability available to the public, adding that it’ll serve as an opportunity for the general public to cross check the assets and liabilities so declared.
Saying a situation whereby the declared assets and liabilities are not made public has led to public servants declaring fictitious assets and liabilities thereby defeating the essence of the declaration.
“In view of the glaring falsification of information by public servants while declaring their assets and liabilities, making information so declared accessible to the public, for them (public) to be able to follow up and verify the declared Assets and Liabilities.
“Some Public officials have learnt to outsmart the system by declaring non-existing properties in foreign worlds, since they know the Code of Conduct Bureau is not living up to its responsibility of verifying information.
